Dead Period - When to Schedule Vacations:)

Hello Fabulous General Parents!
The KHSAA has deemed June 25th - July 9th as the official "dead period" for all high school sports.  This would be a great time to schedule your family vacation.  I have received many phone calls about the dead period this year, so I wanted to post it for all to see.  Happy Vacation Planning!

Great Catch Generals!

We teamed up with Nelson County and competed last weekend in a Bass Fishing Tournament at Green River Lake. Our Thomas Nelson bass fishermen pictured are: Logan Crady, Mason McMahan, Braden Maupin and Aaron Amshoff (Boston). The Nelson County bass fishermen pictured are: Hunter Smith, Andrew Beam, and Zac Womack. Thanks to Coach Kroll and several parents who were able to make it happen! #GreatCatchGenerals

Student-Athlete(s) of the Week:

Spring Student-Athlete(s) of the Week:

Baseball: Blake Masden for his leadership on and off of the field.

Softball: Tayrn Roby - She hit the first Home Run of the Season against Jeffersontown. Tayrn always has a smile on her face and is the ultimate team player. Her role on the varsity has diminished this year so far but she has under taken the hardest role that of becoming our second pitcher. She has done this with a smile and determination for the team and the sport that she loves.

Tennis: Derek Roby because he loves the game and is always willing to get better.

Track: Nathan Hagan - A competitive distance runner, Nathan competed in a pentathlon in which consisted of shot put, high jump, long jump, hurdles and the 800 meter run. He even came to school on a snow day to practice is four new events. He high jumped 5'2", threw further than most varsity shot putters, survived hurdles and ran the fastest 800 among the pentathletes. Place 3rd overall narrowly missing 2nd - courage.

Thomas Nelson Dance Team

Thomas Nelson is ready to start a dance team!  We will be having a student meeting on April 7th at 3:15pm and a parent meeting on April 8th at 5:30pm.  Tryouts will be held the following week.  Our new dance coach is Lacee Jenkins.  She has a great amount of experience with dance and choreography at the high school level.  Let's get this team started!
